Sharbendu Banerjee has over 20 years of business management experience in corporate and development sectors; he has worked with some of the biggest and oldest organizations of the world such as Nestle, 3M, and Reliance Telecommunication. A science graduate from Calcutta University, Sharbendu has done his post graduation in business management from XLRI Jamshedpur and he is also a Six Sigma Practitioner, Prince 2 Project Management Practitioner and Certified CRM Professional trained in Siebel. Sharbendu Banerjee has been spearheading CABI’s work in the area of mobile agriculture since 2009 and has been successfully established CABI in this new and existing domain of mobile technology for farmers (called mAgri) as a leading global organization within a span of 5 years through grant support from USAID, DFID, GSMA etc. Sharbendu currently is leading the mobile theme of CABI as Global Director-Mobile, based in India. He also oversees the newly established mobile technology development centre of CABI in New Delhi, India His other interests are building social media tools and applications for the bottom of pyramid population, using voice as medium of communication.
