Prof. August Temu is the Deputy Director General responsible for Partnership and Impact at the World Agroforestry Centre. He was the first Executive Secretary of the African Network for Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Education (ANAFE). Between 1973 and 1992 he worked at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania where he held various senior management positions, including Deanship of the Faculty of Forestry and Nature Conservation.
He also served as the FAO/UNDP Chief Technical Advisor in Bangladesh and as visiting professor at Chittagong University. He has written extensively on forestry, agriculture and natural resources education. In 2000 he was admitted as an International Fellow of the Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry.
Prof. Temu is the Secretary to the Board of Trustees at the World Agroforestry Centre.
