Dr. James Kinyangi is the regional program leader for East Africa for the CGIAR program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS). He oversees the work of participating partners and coordinates actions that lead to coherent implementation of the CCAFS regional engagement strategy. This includes participatory selection of research sites and facilitating action research at multiple scales. Core activities with partners contribute to research outputs that are critical to achieving program goals and addressing regional priorities. These are realized through: adaptation to progressive climate change and adaptation through managing climate risk, pro-poor climate change mitigation and integration for decision making. Parts of his duties also entail developing long‐term and equitable partnerships crucial to regional implementation of research interventions.
