Dr. Matlon is a specialist in Agricultural Economics. He occupied the position of Director of Research at AfricaRice and Principal Economist at ICRISAT. He held very important positions at Rockefeller Foundation and UNDP. He has published extensively in international referred journals, edited many books and written several book chapters. He is a member of the advisory committee of the journal Agricultural Economics, a member of the editorial Board of the journal Nutrient Cycling in Agroecosystems and a referee for several internationally recognized journals. He serves on many Boards, international panels and committees. He is currently the Board Chair of the Africa Rice Center, a CGIAR Consortium Research Center.
