The OECD will convene the 2015 edition of its Global Forum on Development in Paris on 1 April 2015 with the theme “Post-2015 Financing for Sustainable Development”.
In mid-2015 all eyes will be focused on the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD), taking place in Addis Ababa in July. The task is monumental: to gather the necessary financial resources and other Means of Implementation to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a universal and ambitious agenda covering social, economic and environmental sustainability. The international debate has necessarily focused on the big picture. We presently have an aggregated perspective, with much complexity simplified, and issues and instruments sometimes placed in artificial boxes and silos.
The 2015 Global Forum on Development, involving governments, business and civil society, will focus more on the country-level perspective.
Pre meetings for technical groups focusing on tax, investment, aid, etc. will be arranged on 31 March. More details on the Forum, including registration arrangements, will be made available in the coming weeks on our website: http://www.oecd.org/site/oecdgfd/
