Principal Agricultural Research Institute based at Mikocheni Agricultural Research Institute (MARI) in Tanzania. She is experienced researcher in plant nutrition, plant physiology (drought stress) and cropping systems. She is involved in various networks both national and international. She has headed coconut agronomy section for over 20 years and coffee agronomy for three years. She has been a fellow of round one in African Women in Agriculture and Research Development (AWARD) under Gender and diversity Programme hosted under ICRAF. She has worked with both government and private institutions in Tanzania including the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Cooperatives and Tanzania Coffee Research Institute. She graduated her B Sc Agric in 1980 at the University of Dar-es –Salaam; MSc Agric in 1990 at Sokoine University of Agriculture Morogoro, Tanzania and holds a PhD (Agronomy) University of London, UK (1998).
