The CGIAR Research Program on Aquatic Agricultural Systems is a multi-year research initiative launched in July 2011. It is designed to pursue community-based approaches to agricultural research and development that target the poorest and most vulnerable rural households in aquatic agricultural systems. Led by WorldFish, the Program is partnering with diverse organizations working at local, national and global levels to help achieve impacts at scale.   The program’s six themes: Sustainable increases in system productivity Equitable access to markets   Social-ecological resilience and adaptive capacity Gender equality Policies and institutions to empower AAS users Knowledge sharing, learning, and innovation   The program focal countries: Bangladesh Cambodia Philippines Solomon Islands Zambia   CGIAR is a global partnership that unites organizations engaged in research for a food secure future. CGIAR research is dedicated to reducing rural poverty, increasing food security, improving human health and nutrition, and ensuring more sustainable management of natural resources.
