Dr. Julius N. Ingweye, a Registered Animal Scientist, hails from Akorshi-Bendi, Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. He holds a B.Agric. in Animal Science with Second Class Upper Division in 2000, M.Sc. in Animal Nutrition & Biochemistry in 2005 and Ph.D in Animal Production and Nutrition in 2010, all from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. Dr. Ingweye also obtained Post Graduate Diplomas in Education (2007) and Management (2006) from Usman Dan Fodiyo University Sokoto and University of Calabar, respectively. During his graduate studies, he won the Federal Government of Nigeria and Cross River State Government scholarships and World Bank/Federal Ministry of Education STEP-B “Innovators of Tomorrow” research grant for his Ph.D research. Before joining the Department of Animal Science & Fisheries, University of Port Harcourt in January 2011 as Lecturer II, he was employed under the Federal Government of Nigeria Highfliers Recruitment Scheme and deployed to the Federal Department of Livestock and Pest Control Services as Livestock Officer and Behaviour Change Communication Focal Person at the Field Office in Calabar from 2006 to 2010. His research interests cover urban livestock agriculture, livestock chains and marketing, neglected and underutilized species (NUS) and use of audiovisuals in livestock extension and training. He has published extensively in local and international journals. He believes that agriculture can only solve livelihoods challenges in the world, especially Sub Saharan Africa (SSA)if Agricultural education, training, research and extension are approached from multidisciplinary perspectives.
