Welcoming YPARD Colombia representative: Miguel Román Corredor Hernández
We are delighted to welcome our very first national representative for YPARD Colombia: Miguel Hernández Román Corredor.
Besides being an agronomist, Miguel has a Master in Management of Organizations.

“I’m tired of hearing the young generation are the future. Why? Because it implies that group is marginal. We tend to be involved in these decision-making processes because youth is ‘colorful,’ youth is ‘dynamic.’ But actually what we require is to be seriously and honestly involved at the centre of processes.”
Time for changes for YPARD Steering Committee
YPARD would like to thank Codrin Paveliuc-Olariu for his time as Steering Committee chair. The steering Committee will be voting on a new chair in the upcoming Steering Committee meeting in January 2015.
We wish Codrin all the best in his new endeavours and look forward to welcoming a new chair in the new year!

YPARD Nepal is pleased to announce the winners of the Family Farming Photo Contest (#IYFF14). In order to support the International Year of Family Farming 2014, YPARD Nepal launched this photo contest open to Nepali citizens in August 2014.

Farming First and YPARD have an ongoing partnership, giving youth a voice on the popular Farming First blog which receives over 12,000 visitors each month.
Mediterranean rural communities in times of crisis
On the 11th and 12th of December, 2014 at the Mediterranean Institute of Agronomy (IAM) in Montpellier, 3 YPARD members attended the third preparatory meeting for 2015 Global Forum in Agricultural Research on the future. The main objective of these two days was to discuss the situation of Mediterranean rural communities in times of crisis and how not to forget them.

On the 10th of December, 2014, Courtney Paisley, YPARD director, gave a 30 minute presentation on the role of youth in food and agriculture, as part of the growing Food Tank Exclusive Webinar Series.
