In the recent meeting of the AARINENA Executive Committee that took place in Kuwait on April 8, one of the main points in the agenda was a report and a discussion of the present status and the next steps in the development of a project proposal for the establishment of a Regional Agricultural R&D Information System (RAIS), through a collaborative effort of the agricultural research institutions of the region. The objective of this regional system is to facilitate the flow of information among the stakeholders of agricultural research in the region, and to facilitate access to information and to information technology by researchers and other stakeholders in the AARINENA countries, through an increased collaboration among the information services of the agricultural research institutions in the region. This report presents a summary of the main points that were discussed and agreed to at this meeting.
