The library was established in Rome at the 1952 FAO Conference, according to the decisions of the 1950 Conference. It was named David Lubin Memorial Library by the Conference to honor the founder of the International Institute of Agriculture (IIA). The extensive IIA collection formed a solid base for the present-day Library, which is considered one of the world's finest collections in food, agriculture and international development. The David Lubin Memorial Library is part of the ‘Office for Corporate Communication (OCC)’ division of FAO.  

The Scientific Electronic Library Online - SciELO is an electronic library covering a selected collection of Brazilian scientific journals. The library is an integral part of a project being developed by FAPESP - Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo, in partnership with BIREME - the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information. Since 2002, the Project is also supported by CNPq - Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico. The Project envisages the development of a common methodology for the preparation, storage, dissemination and evaluation of scientific literature in electronic format. As the project develops, new journal titles are being added in the library collection.

The NAL is a specialised, scientific, public institution carrying national tasks, it is a budgetary institution. Its high authority is the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The library would like to attend enquirers working in agriculture from Hungary and abroad – students, lecturers, researchers, practical agrarians, enterpreneurs, primary producers etc. It is the most important collection of special literature in the Hungarian agricultural sector, furthermore, it is the co-ordination centre for libraries of institutions of higher agricultural education and for agricultural special libraries. The library is the agri-cultural centre of Middle- and East-Europe. NAL functions as deposit library of the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations) and as such collects, processes, stores, and provides its publications. As Hungarian Agris-Centre takes part in building of the Agris database of FAO.  

The establishment of NCARTT goes back to the last 50's when the Department of Research and Extension was created. In the mid 80’s, reformulated to become “The National center for Agricultural Research and Technology Transfer”. It was in charge of conducting applied Research at the national level. A few years later (1993) NCARTT became a semi-antonymous institution with administrative and financial independence.   NCARTT has good relationships with many regional and international institution, such as the world bank, the European Commission, United Nations Development Project, FAO, USAID, German Technical Corporation (GTZ), International Development and Research Center (IDRC), ICARDA, ACSAD, AARINNA, Arab Fund For Economic and Social Development (AFESD), Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, and many others.   NCARTT consists of a main headquarter located at Al-Hussein Agricultural Experiment Station at Balqa'a and six Regional Centers in Deir Alla, Ramtha, Khaldieh, Mushaqar, Rabba, Shoubak.

The Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) is a premier national institution bringing together research programmes in food crops, horticultural and industrial crops, livestock and range management, land and water management, and socio-economics. KARI promotes sound agricultural research, technology generation and dissemination to ensure food security through improved productivity and environmental conservation.

Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) is a government corporate entity attached to the Department of Agriculture created through Executive Order 1061 on 5 November 1985 (as amended) to help develop high-yielding and cost-reducing technologies so farmers can produce enough rice for all Filipinos. The Institute accomplishes this mission through research and development work in our central and six branch stations, coordinating with a network that comprises 57 agencies and 70 seed centers strategically located nationwide. As proof the Institute’s quality of service, PhilRice received the following certifications: ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management), and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series).  

At present the VSU System has 10 colleges, three institutes and one school. These are the College of Agriculture, College of Forestry, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Engineering and Agri-Industries, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, College of Fisheries (VSU-Tolosa Campus), College of Agri-Industrial Technology (VSU-Isabel Campus), College of Environmental and Agricultural Technology (VSU-Alangalang Campus), College of Education and Agricultural Technology (VSU-Villaba Campus), Institute of Human Kinetics, Institute of Tropical Ecology, Institute for Strategic Research and Development Studies, and the Graduate School. It also has an Open University which takes care of the distance education program.
