Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The primary goal of the Project Technical Consultant is to develop the “Regional Assessment Report on the Status of CT Recognition and Implementation Mechanisms in the Context of Food Security”. Specifically, he/ she will:

Finalize the report/ study plan, outlining the following:

1. Specific objectives/ key research questions;
2. Research methodology, including the analytical framework for the regional-level analyses, and the data collection plan, which includes the national-level case studies and consultations;
3. Potential literature sources; and
4. Timeline of activities.
5. Undertake data collection activities (e.g. desk research, consultations, FGDs, KIIs, etc.) based on the approved report/ study plan;
6. Lead the coordination and monitoring of national-level case study researchers in collecting relevant information on VGGT and CT recognition and implementation mechanisms in the target countries, and in developing their individual case study reports;
7. Consolidate national-level case studies and undertake regional-level analyses to draft the report based on the agreed timeline with AFA and its project partners;
8. Present initial findings/ report in an online regional dialogue and learning exchange to be scheduled by AFA and project partners and incorporate feedback/ inputs into the report;
9. Participate in activities which aims to disseminate the results of the analytical report, including developing short briefs/ articles highlighting insights gained from the report and data collection activities.

 Qualifications:

1. Must be a graduate of any 4-year social sciences degree; Master’s degree an advantage
2. Has more than 3 years of experience writing social science researches; experience in conducting research or working on VGGT and CT in the context of food security an advantage
3. Can write and speak effectively in English
4. Has working and operational understanding of basic software programs (i.e. MS Office, email, internet browsers, etc.)
5. Must be from an ASEAN member country; experience in working at regional level an advantage
