The GFAR Document Repository is an Information system and a digital archive which was
launched in October 2006 to organize, disseminate, and preserve all the documentation
available in GFAR. The system was implemented using a customized version of the EIMS
(Electronic Information Management System) software developed by the Library and
Documentation Systems Division of FAO.
The objectives of the establishment of a document repository were to implement a system that
is: Easy to use, with a few clicks it is possible to access all GFAR documents in full text;
adhered to international standards; interactive, users around the world can simultaneously
contribute to self-archive their documents and; easy to customize
