The Permanent Representation of Costa Rica, FAO, IFAD and World Rural Forum (WRF) are co-organizing a side event to the 44th session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS44) entitled «A Decade on Family Farming to accelerate the achievements of the SDGs».

The event marks deliberations of the General Assembly of the UN on the declaration of a Decade of Action on Family Farming, to contribute to the international community’s efforts to eradicate poverty in all its forms, reduced inequality and combat climate change negative effects, while ensuring that no one is left behind. 13 countries take part in the core group leading by Costa Rica. The initiative has received the support of FAO and IFAD.

The side event will be held on October 11th from 13:00 to 14:30 at FAO Headquarters in the Philippines Room, bldg C flr 2.
