Christopher Brewster (http://www.cbrewster.com) is Senior Lecturer in Information Technology, as well as Research Convenor, in the Operations and Information Management Group, Aston Business School, Aston University, and previously was a Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield’s Computer Science Department in its Natural Language Processing group. His research interests include knowledge representation for a variety of applications, knowledge management and ontology learning for the biomedical and life science domains, ontology evaluation, and the application of Semantic Web technologies to knowledge management. Recently his research has focussed on agri-food, the food supply chain, and the application of ICT solution in this domain. He has been a PI on the FI PPP SmartAgrifood project (http://www.smartagrifood.eu) which focussed on the application of Future Internet technologies (including semantic web) in the agri-food sector. He is a PI on the follow-on FI PPP project FISpace. He is co-director of the Aston Crisis Centre (http://www.astoncrisis.com) as well as having previously been project manager of the Companions project (http://www.companions-project.org) which was an EC funded IP focused on multimedia multimodal interfaces. He has published over 50 papers and organised a number of workshops, including Privacy Online 2014 (http://privon.semanticweb.org).
