Dorine holds a master’s degree in Agricultural Information and Communication Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological sciences, both from The University of Nairobi. She has previously worked as a research officer with the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) for six years, during which she was in charge of cotton research in western Kenya. She has carried out surveys and field experiments in smallholder rural settings, but has further been trained in innovative collaboration for development using social media, a course offered by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in collaboration with FAO. Dorine is also an alumnus of the International Centre for development oriented Research in Agriculture (ICRA) in Netherlands, having undertaken a capacity building professional course on ‘Design and Management of Interactive Learning in Rural Innovation’, one of the courses offered by ICRA.

Dorine is a member of the International Association of Agricultural Information Specialists (IAALD).
