Anna joined the Open Data Institute in September 2014 as its Writer and Editor. As part of the content and learning team, she focuses on telling stories with open data and helping to shape outputs across ODI’s programmes.Anna’s background is in human rights and global development. Before joining the ODI, Anna was a journalist at the Guardian, where she wrote, commissioned and produced articles and multimedia on broad development-related issues, from international aid transparency to global health. Before joining the Guardian, Anna helped set up the Europe office at the Center for Global Development, where she handled policy outreach and produced the popular podcast, Development Drums.Anna’s passion for open data first developed between her BA in politics and anthropology and her MA in human rights, when she worked on the aid data programme at Development Initiatives and saw for the first time the difference that robust data can make to peoples lives.
