I am the head of the Department of Biochemistry and Microbial Genomics.
Main Projects of the Dept are devoted to the study of plant growth-promoting bacteria.
Research covers basic as well as applied aspects of the interaction soil-plant-bacteria.
Our current Projects are focused on the following areas:
1) Physiology and biochemistry of some Plant growth-promoting bacteria (e.g. Sinorhizobium meliloti, Herbaspirillum seropedicae, Cupriavidus sp. Burkholderia sp.)
2) Search and characterization of native alfa and beta rhizobia associated to native legumes
3) Search and characterization of endophytes
4) Agrobiology. Use of plant growth promoting bacteria for: soil restoration, small farmers production, recovery of environmental protected areas
