She has a Doctor of Engineering Sciences and a Master in Agricultural Economics degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Since 2010 she works as Ministerial Advisor at the Ministry of Agriculture. She also is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Agricultural Innovation (FIA) and member of the Board of the Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA).
She has previously served as a Professor at the Department of Agricultural Economics of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, doing teaching and research activities. She also was the Director of the Master of Agribusiness Management (MAGEA-UC).
She has done consulting for international organizations such as FAO and ECLAC, and public and private institutions in Chile as Fundación Chile, ODEPA, FIA and INDAP.
