Susan Robertson is an expert in agricultural economics – including value chains, rural entrepreneurship, and access to agricultural markets.
Before joining IDRC, Robertson did extensive research on the effects of extreme weather events on agricultural production and the resulting impact on land use. She has taught at the University of Alberta, Grant McEwen College, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and the University of Guelph, on topics related to resource and environmental economics. Current research interests include value chain analysis and the role of the private sector in agricultural development.
Robertson holds a doctorate from the University of Alberta and a MSc from the University of Guelph.
