Former Whitehall Research Fellow of the American Nutrition Foundation and currently, independent international expert in health and nutrition policy in sustainable human development and senior researcher at the National Research Center in Cairo. Four times author in Egypt Human Development Report (2004. 2005, 2008 and 2010) and former Director at WHO Geneva. Also serve as the National Contact Point for the European Commission's 7th Research Framework Program in the priority area of Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology. Bearer of the Golden Medal of the French Academy of Agriculture (2010) for significant work in the area of health and nutrition. Several published contributions in the area of nutrition and food security.
