Eric Yirenkyi Danquah is a Professor of Plant Molecular Genetics at the Department of Crop Science,University of Ghana. He also serves as the Director of West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement(WACCI),an institution established in June 2007 to train a new generation of plant breeders for the West and Central Africa sub-region. He graduated, M.Phil(Plant Breeding) and Ph.D(Genetics),from the University of Cambridge,UK in 1987 and 1993 respectively.He was a visiting scientist at the BBSRC Long Ashton Research Institute,UK from 2000 to 2001. Previous positions held in the University of Ghana include Dean of International Programmes,Head of Department of Crop Science and Senior Tutor of Legon Hall,the premier Hall in the University.In 2008,he was a member of the Sixth External Program and Management Review Panel of the International Crops Research Centre for the Semi-Arid Tropics(ICRISAT).His research focuses on using the tools of genomics to facilitate crop improveme
