A major CGIAR national consultation was as carried out in Hanoi, Vietnam on 14 and 15 December 2015. The national consultations are an integral part of the third Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development, a two-year consultation process focusing on stakeholder and partner priorities at the national and regional level designed to help shape the strategy and future direction of international agriculture research and innovation.
The Vietnam National Consultation is part of a series of GCARD3 consultations taking place through 2015 and 2016 in a set of countries identified through agreed criteria by CGIAR Centers and Research Programs (CRPs), with input from other stakeholder groups. More than 40 national research institutes and partners met to discuss the most significant challenges to agriculture in the country, and strategies for increasing crop productivity and incomes.
