I have a Bsc(Agriculture) in Applied Plant and Soil Sciences qualification from the University Of Pretoria. I am very passionate about crop agriculture. After completing my degree I had a gap year when I was unemployed, I used this time to really figure what I would like to do with my qualification. That was when I got an internship from the  Agricultural Research Council in South Africa.

Over the next four decades the world population is expected to reach a staggering Nine Billion, whereas cropping area is expected to decrease due to changing lifestyle and increased urbanization. In case the question hasn’t already popped into your head; how are we going to provide safe food and fuel for all these people? Year round intensive cultivation systems such as greenhouses, polyhouses, hobby agriculture and self-food cultivation at home gardens will play big role in supplementing produce in addition to regular agriculture production. That my friends, is where we come in.
