Anke Weisheit Innovator and Visionary Scientist Holding a Masters Degree in Agriculture and Natural Resources Management, Anke is the innovator and visionaire for the development of the Institute of Indigenious Knowlegde which is in establishment. Anke’s key qualifications are Agroforestry, domestication and sustainable harvest of medicinal species, formulation & packing improvement, curriculum development & training and advisory services to small enterprises.

Agricultural sociologist (Dr agr., University of Hohenheim, Germany) specialised in institutional aspects of research & development, especially innovation processes that enhance local adaptive capacities.

Has advised several organisations in sub-Saharan Africa in pastoral/livestock systems development & participatory research. Since 2003, member of International Support Team for Prolinnova (PROmoting Local INNOVAtion in ecologically oriented agriculture and NRM), working through multistakeholder networks in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Former Whitehall Research Fellow of the American Nutrition Foundation and currently, independent international expert in health and nutrition policy in sustainable human development and senior researcher at the National Research Center in Cairo. Four times author in Egypt Human Development Report (2004. 2005, 2008 and 2010) and former Director at WHO Geneva. Also serve as the National Contact Point for the European Commission's 7th Research Framework Program in the priority area of Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology.
