- Despite the lack of effective national governance, Somalia maintains an informal economy largely based on livestock, remittance/money transfer companies, and telecommunications. Agriculture is the most important sector with livestock normally accounting for about 40% of GDP and more than 50% of export earnings. Nomads and semi-pastoralists, who are dependent upon livestock for their livelihood, make up a large portion of the population.

I am a life science post graduate and in pursuit of inter disciplinary research I studied Geomatics engineering in my second post graduation.I am presently working on Remote sensing and GIS based Environmental, agricultural, hydrology and climate studies.I am looking forward to collaborate with like minded researchers and would be part of advancement in science and technology.

I am very excited to be part of a generation that gets to appreciate the Agricultural potential that is in Africa. I am even more excited to actively contribute to a continent void of hunger and in which technology is part of the process towards sustainable crop production.A plant Biotechnology student and researcher , keen on improving the food production chains in Africa.
