I am involved in research on impact of interventions on poverty and gender at ILRI. In the recent past, I have been involved in work on the impact of micro-credit and value chain programs on women empowerment in Kenya, using the newly developed Women Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI).

I serve as a lecturer in Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture,University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. I have done my basic degree in Agricultural Economics (University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka) and masters in Fisheries Economics and management (Collaboration of University of Tromso and University of Nha Trang,Norway and VietNam). I conduct lectures in Development Economics, Fisheries Economics and Management, Agricultural Marketing, Internatinal Trade, and Participatory Rural Appraisal techniques.
