Dr. Alexander G. Flor is Professor of Information and Communication Studies at the University of the Philippines - Open University. Formerly UPOU Vice Chancellor for research and development, he was the founding Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies serving two terms (2004 to 2010).

Areas of expertise: Diseases of perennial crops particularly vascular wilt diseases Ganoderma and Phytophthora. ?Focus commodity crops- cocoa, oil palm, coffee, coconut and cassava. Host- pathogen interactions, Integrated management of crop diseases. Institutional development and capacity building, particularly in SE Asia, the Pacific and Africa.

As communications manager I am responsible for devising and executing promotional activity for CABI's International Development and Bioservices. I hold a PhD in sustainable agriculture, have field experience as a professional agronomist, and 10+ years experience managing environmental communications programmes for central government departments and several private sector businesses.
