Dr Mahesh Chander is PhD in Agricultural Extension Education, employed as Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Extension Education at Indian Veterinary Research Institute under Indian Council of Agricultural Research since 1991, with responsibility to teach, train, research, and transfer technology in livestock sector. He has guided 17 Master's and Doctoral students in Veterinary Extension Education. He was member of XI Plan as well as current XII plan Subgroup on Animal Husbandry Extension constituted by Government of India, wherein, he has been emphasizing the issue of livestock extension policy formulation to systematize livestock extension efforts. He has served as member of International Standards Committee of IFOAM, Germany and Rain Forest Alliance, USA. For his outstanding contributions in teaching he was awarded Bharat Ratna Dr C. Subramaniam Outstanding teacher award by Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Young Scientist award by Indian Society of Extension Educatio
