Chairman of GFAR from 2003-2006 and President of AARINENA from 1998-2000. I have been involved in AARINENA's activities and programs from 1996-2012 in various positions as President, Vice President and a member of its Executive Committee. I have been involved to support CGIAR ‘s reform and restructuring from 1998-2008 and served ICARDA as Coordinator of Iran-ICARDA Program and Highland Regional Research Network from November 2008 to March 2012. I have been serving the NARS of Iran as Director General of Soil and Water Research Institute from 1983-1995 and Vice President of AREEO, which is the umbrella organization for 23 national agricultural research institutes of Iran from 1995-2008. I have been awarded in 2011 by Soil Science Society of Iran as the distinguished soil scientist and have published more than 25 research papers in international and national refereed journals and supervised about 35 PhD and MSc theses and dissertations at Iranian Universities.
