Dr. (Mrs.) Jancy Gupta is Principal Scientist (Agricultural Extension) in National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana, India. She was Head of Dairy Extension Division, during 2005-2011 in the same institute.
Her extensive research work covers Agriculture knowledge and Information System (AKIS), information and communication technologies, Participatory Technology Development (PTD) and sustainability issues in Agriculture and its measurement. She carried out pioneer work of Farmer Livestock School in lines of Farmer Field Schools in India and its validation as a tool for transfer of knowledge intensive technologies in Dairying. Her contributions in developing sustainability indicators for integrated farming systems and for farms of self-help groups in India have been well recognized. She has completed multiple research projects on ICT applications in Dairying and has also produced 9 ICTs for dairy farming.
She is recipient of various prestigious awards, amongst them the ICAR Swami Sahajanand Saraswati Best Extension Scientist Award in 2003, The Swiss Confederation Scholarship – 2008 of Federal Office for Agriculture, International Centre for Agricultural Education, Bern, Switzerland, Agriculture Leadership Award in 2012 of Agriculture Today magazine, India
She has completed 20 research projects in Extension and guided 16 Ph. D and 10 MSc. students. She has more than 90 research publications in national and international Journals and is a leading Scientist in the discipline of Agricultural Extension.
