Saravanan Raj is an Associate Professor (Extension Education and Rural Sociology) of the Central Agricultural University (CAU), India. He has specialization in the areas of ICTs for agricultural extension, public, private and NGOs extension systems, reforms and innovations. His publications include three books on Information and Communication Technology for Agriculture and Rural Development (2011), ICTs for Agricultural Extension: Global Experiments, Innovations and Experiences (2010) and Agricultural Extension: Worldwide Innovations (2008), 30 articles in the referred scientific international and national journals. He was an Organising Secretary of the National Seminar on ICT4ARD-2009. He was the Principal Investigator of the three e-Agriculture initiatives (e-Arik, e-Village and e-AgriKiosk) in Arunachal Pradesh state and also implemented Mobile based Agro-Advisory System in North-East India (m4agriNEI) initiative in Meghalaya state of North-East India. He is an affiliated member of the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS) and Agricultural Extension in South Asia (AESA) network. He participated in the World Bank mission in Ghana as an agricultural extension and ICT specialist in 2014.
