Strengthening resilience in agriculture and rural development is the overall theme of the 2011 AGA, targetting primarily the 34 Platform members of bilateral and multilateral donors, international financing institutions, intergovernmental organisations and development agencies. Invited are as well partners and friends of the Platform and political decisionmakers active in the wider area of food security.

The theme will be opened with a keynote by David Nabarro, Coordinator of UN High Level Task Force on the Global Food Security Crisis and Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Food Security and Nutrition, and continued with panels discussing the lessons to be learned from various crises in food security and its implications for rural development objectives.
