The International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) has published its annual report for 2015-2016 entitled "Sustainable Food Futures: Getting the Fundamentals Right". The Report captures the research, innovation, diversity, and impact of CIAT’s work over the past year under the banner Shaping Sustainable Food Futures. Shaping sustainable food futures means preserving ecosystems and the services they provide: Conserving crop diversity and making better varieties available; Preparing farmers for climate change; And making the best of big data for food security.
Additionally, the report reflects CIAT’s contributions within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and our participation in the many CGIAR Research Programs we support. It provides a snapshot of CIAT and our participation in major global events such as the International Year of Soils, and the International Year of Pulses. And importantly, it recognizes the many donors and partners who play an important role in our success.
