I graduated with a Bachelor of Agriculture (Animal Science) degree from the University of the South Pacific in 2010 where I was honoured with the Best Agriculture Graduate and Gold Medallist accolades amongst other awards. I commenced attachment with the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji in February, 2011 and was offered a contract in May, 2011. In October, 2011, I was given the responsibility to report on the company's activities as MIS officer for the Western Division of Fiji and that is where I stand now. I was one of the fortunate Pacific Islanders to be involved with CTA’s ARDYIS programme in 2010 which has illuminated both my professional career and personal life in terms of capacity building and my hobby as a young agricultural advocate.
Until recently, my life has been mostly centred around the sugarcane farms of rural Nadi, located in Western Fiji. Along the way, I have spent 13 great academic years at Mulomulo Primary and Secondary schools. Of all the careers I could have pursued as a science student; fate linked me to my roots. Perhaps the vitality of agriculture to the Pacific region and the world really convinced me enough to endorse this field as top priority; where my utmost interest and dedication lies.
