To improve food security and catalyze agricultural development in the Eurasian Region, the Government of the Russian Federation has established the Eurasian Center for Food Security (ECFS) under the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), which is expected to become an internationally recognized agricultural research center that will contribute towards solving food security issues in Eurasia and globally.
The World Bank has been requested to provide technical assistance to the Russian Federation’s efforts to enhance the Center’s capacity and to provide support to the development of a comprehensive learning program on Food Security in the Eurasian region, including establishment of the first-in-the-region Master’s level Programs and short-term courses in Food Security to be implemented by the Moscow State University using an e- learning format.
For this reason, the World Bank is launching an international competitive selection to recruit a qualified vendor to develop content and instructional materials for on-line instruction of the two international level graduate degree (Master’s) programs and to develop and deliver four on-line short-term courses.
The first Master’s Program will focus on Food Security and Agrofood Management and the second - on Land and Water Resources Management for Food Security. The topics identified for the four short-term courses are as follows: (1) Fundamentals of Food Security; (2) Conducting Food Security Assessments; (3) Fundamentals of Land Resources Management for Food Security, and (4) Economic and Environmental Assessment of Lands.
