This program aims to foster collaborative partnership and institutional mechanisms that will ensure effective links between smallholder producers and markets, in order to improve incomes sustainably and add value to their products. The aim is to develop a global multi-stakeholder Global Partnership Programme and launch it based on secured financing from more than one donor.
The project’s institutional form and the governance structure of its partnership arrangement are both designed to be innovative, and the project’s action research will be linked to ongoing donor investment projects involving small producers and private agribusiness companies and marketing chains. Networking, cross fertilization and knowledge sharing between sub-regional programs are all key actions that this project will stress.
