On the occasion of the International Symposium on “Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition”, a special youth session organized by FAO and YPARD is taking place on 2 December 2016 from 12:45 to 13:45 (CET) at FAO HQ, Rome, Italy. The aim of the youth session is to identify and convey key messages from the student community to policy and decision makers on ways to strengthen sustainable food systems for healthy diets and improved nutrition in communities.

In preparation for the event, the participating universities are hosting ‘webinars’ in their premises on 1 December 2016 to follow the Opening Session of the Symposium and gather inputs from students. 

Based on the issues discussed in those sessions, a student from each participating universities will attend the Student Interactive Session in FAO to present ‘Input for Policy makers’ from the students’ perspectives. Students from participating universities will be connected in person and via video-link for this interaction.

The participating universities are: University of Sao Paolo, Brazil; University of Ghana, Ghana; Chouaib Doukkali University, Morocco; Mahidol University, Thailand; Oslo-Akershus University College of Applied Sciences, Norway; Tufts University, USA; Università degli Studi di Roma Tre, Italy and University of Gent, Belgium.
