AgTalks, organized by IFAD, are TEDTalks-style speeches presenting the latest innovative ideas and actions for small-scale farming. The upcoming live session, titled "Whassup with Agriculture? Young innovators tell their stories" will star young role models involved in agriculture, who inspire and engage their peers in the sector.
On the occasion of the International Symposium on “Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition”, a special youth session organized by FAO and YPARD is taking place on 2 December 2016 from 12:45 to 13:45 (CET) at FAO HQ, Rome, Italy. The aim of the youth session is to identify and convey key messages from the student community to policy and decision makers on ways to strengthen sustainable food systems for healthy diets and improved nutrition in communities.
On 14–18 November 2016, the Promoting local innovation for food and nutrition security (Proli–FaNS) project was launched with a meeting of all partners in Accra, Ghana. Proli-FaNS is a 3-year project supported by MISEREOR / KatholischeZentralstelle e.V.“ (KZE, Germany) through a grant of the “One World No Hunger” initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
At its 42nd session in October 2015, the UN Committee on World Food Security (CFS) requested the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE) to prepare a report on Nutrition and Food Systems. This report is expected to be presented at CFS 44 in October 2017.
