OVERALL PURPOSE

The objective of this assignment is to engage an individual who will provide strategic leadership and management to achieve FARA’s mission. He/she will develop and maintain strategic relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders (policymakers, National Agricultural Research and Extension Institutions, farmers, private sector, NGOs, universities, sub-regional organizations, CGIAR, development partners, etc.) that FARA partners with and relies on to achieve its goals.

Prolinnova: Survey to gather perceptions on innovations launched

Prolinnova (a network of organisations around the globe working on documenting and supporting farmer-led innovations and their related processes initiated with GFAR's support) has partnered with the Global Forum on Agricultural Research & Innovation to conduct a survey to gather members’ perceptions about innovation. The objective of the survey is to better inform GFAR constituencies about the type of multistakeholder innovation processes and results that emerge when small-scale farmers take a leading role.

CGIAR: Independent Science for Development Council

Introduction

The Independent Science for Development Council (ISDC) is a standing panel of impartial, world- class scientific and innovation experts providing rigorous, independent strategic advice to the CGIAR System Council and other stakeholders. ISDC contributes to the strategic and portfolio planning and positioning of CGIAR. ISDC provides an important advisory function that is integral to the governance of One CGIAR. It is vital therefore that ISDC includes skills, disciplines and backgrounds relevant to the One CGIAR agenda.

Enabling policy environment towards unleashing the potential of family farming

World Rural Forum Strengthen Family farming has proven to be one of the paramount strategies to address the challenges facing humanity, including food security, climate change, forced migration. In times of crisis, the resilience, know-how, adaptability and community roots of family farmers are essential in attending the food, social and environmental needs of populations.
