Every country on the earth is affected by poor nutrition and the results of poor nutrition affect most families. What can agricultural extension professionals do to support better nutrition? And what might be unrealistic to expect of extension? By completing this training, you will have the opportunity to consider these questions and others and to find the right answers for the situations in which you work.

GFAR themes 2013

The National Committees for Family Farming in Indonesia and Colombia have promoted processes of political dialogue between key players in Family Farming, leading to the approval of new regulations for the development of Family Farming in their respective countries. In Indonesia, the Law on the Protection and Empowerment of Farmers in central Java has been approved. In Colombia, strategic public policy guidelines for Family Farming were approved.

In March 2018, Farm Radio International hosted an online eDiscussion for radio broadcasters, bringing together more than 100 people from 24 countries.

Every year FRI brings together their broadcasting partners for an online eDiscussion. This is an opportunity for broadcasters to share their questions and experiences with each other, so that they can learn from each other and subject-matter specialists.

Ten years ago, Farm Radio International had the idea to start Farm Radio Weekly: an online agricultural news service that would regularly provide radio broadcasters with stories and resources for their radio programs. In this way, farm radio broadcasters would easily have access to content that they could put straight on air – and their rural listeners would benefit from news stories about farmer innovations.
