I, Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Hossain is a Sustainable Agriculture Advisor and Chief Agricultural Coordinator in Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), a national non-governmental organization of Bangladesh. Earlier I served more than 13 years as a scientist in Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI). In the last couple of years, I have been working on organic farming, sustainable agriculture, food security, climate change and livelihood improvement issues in both Bangladesh and Japan and more than 50 scientific papers have been published in journals and conference proceedings.

Biocontrol Scientist. MSc (Ecology); BSc (Zoology); Prince 2 Foundation. Currently studying for PhD. Areas of expertise: Research focuses on the biological control of invasive weed species and their impact on the habitats they invade. Currently managing a biological control programme for Impatiens glandulifera (Himalayan Balsam) in the UK, and researching its impact on invertebrate populations.
