Plant Pathologist, Commodities. PhD (Plant Pathology); MSc (Crop Protection); BSc (Plant Sciences). Areas of expertise: Extensive experience in the identification, characterisation and field management of fungal plant pathogens in tropical agriculture. Specialism in soil-borne diseases, namely those caused by Fusarium and Rhizoctonia species, and in banana, coffee, cocoa, rice and potato as commodity crops. Considerable experience in the development and implemention of multidisciplinary research projects, and the co-ordination and management of laboratory and field based research activities in UK and overseas (principally Africa and Asia). Author/co-author of numerous journal publications, book chapters, conference proceedings, advisory/training manuals and other information resources.
