Even as measures to concretely incorporate agriculture into the United Nations Climate Conference draft text still remain absent, a new analysis of the country-level climate plans by the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) submitted to the UN ahead of COP21 has revealed country-level demand for technical assistance and climate finance for adaptation and mitigation strategies related to agriculture. In fact, 80% have included agriculture in climate change mitigation targets or actions. The study shows that countries, particularly in the developing world, will need support accessing knowledge and technologies, especially those related to data collection and monitoring.
