As Head of Project, you are responsible for the implementation and coordination of the activities of Welthungerhilfe, in accordance with the framework specified as regards content, financing and timescales. The projects are in the areas of food security, especially value-added chains (rice, potatoes, fish farming) and WASH.

Your most important duties:

  • Representation of Welthungerhilfe and coordination of the project concept and planned project activities with local decision makers and other aid and development organisations working in the project area

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit a Post-doctoral Scientist to be responsible for execution of the molecular aspects of the dairy genomics and health genetics aspects of the program and oversee activities within the reproductive technology platform and execute molecular aspects within the reproductive technologies programme under the Joint Center for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health (CTLGH). The position holder will provide day-to-day supervision of the Research Associate.

The “4 per 1000: soils for food security and the climate” Initiative (hereinafter the “Initiative”) was launched on 1st. December 2015 at COP21. The aim of the Initiative is to improve levels of organic matter and foster carbon sequestration in soils through the implementation of land management (agriculture, forestry, soil restoration, etc…) methods appropriate to local environmental, social and economic conditions. Capacity Development is a high priority among the Partners in GFAR. The Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP) announces the publication of the TAP Common Framework on Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems, following on its finalization at the TAP Partner Assembly on 20 January 2016 in Kigali, Rwanda.  The Common Framework was published thanks to a collaboration with CABI, and TAP Partners’ contributions were welcomed at various stages of framework development.

The GODAN Summit (15-16 September 2016, New York) is the first global conference organized by GODAN, convening all interested in the opening, the use, and the impact of agriculture and nutrition data.

At the GODAN Summit open data researchers and practitioners will have the opportunity to discuss their latest findings at the “Open Data Research Symposium”.
