I am also traoner.I organize training in the field of agricultural research.

I am an accomplished project manager with expertise in all elements of project cycle management, strategy formulation and review, report and proposal writing, expenses control, execution of project work plans, managing resource allocation, scheduling project timelines, fundraising and budget management. I have extensive skills in budget formulation and implementation, project monitoring and evaluation, operations and financial management and staff training and motivation. I have the ability to present concepts to individuals and groups and manage complex issues creatively and effectively.

Dr. James Kinyangi is the regional program leader for East Africa for the CGIAR program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS). He oversees the work of participating partners and coordinates actions that lead to coherent implementation of the CCAFS regional engagement strategy. This includes participatory selection of research sites and facilitating action research at multiple scales. Core activities with partners contribute to research outputs that are critical to achieving program goals and addressing regional priorities.

Formerly with the Alliance Office for the CGIAR Centers (as Senior Program Officer, and as Executive Secretary to the Directors General, 2002-2007) and the CGIAR Secretariat in the Science Advisors group (1989-1994).

I am the the incoming Executive Secretary of EIARD following Philippe Petithuguenin in November 2012. Since GCARD2 stretches from October until November, the EC is not able to fund the participation of either Philippe or myself. However, GIZ, my home institution, has agreed to support my participation if the organizers agree to it.
