The project objective (goal) is sustainable improvement in rural livelihoods and agricultural production in the Asia-Pacific through uptake of new technologies at farm level. The purpose of the project is to improve knowledge exchange and outreach, and increase efficiency in Asian agricultural R&D through provision of a framework and enabling mechanism for scientists and managers to exchange and disseminate experiences and technological developments.

The purpose of this roundtable was to provide inputs to the APAARI secretariat in the formulation
of the Plan of Action for the implementation of the APAARI Vision 2025. It is important to point
out that for the formulation of a detailed Plan of Action, that would include a clear identification of
who will do what, more concrete budget information will have to be prepared, with an indication of
the possible commitment of members or of the possibility of mobilizing funds from donors for

In the APAARI Expert Consultation on ARD Priority Setting that took place in Bangkok
from the 12th to the 14th of November the results of the three sub-regional priority setting
workshops were presented and discussed, on the basis of the reports from each of these subregional
priority setting exercises:
