I graduated with a Bachelor of Agriculture (Animal Science) degree from the University of the South Pacific in 2010 where I was honoured with the Best Agriculture Graduate and Gold Medallist accolades amongst other awards. I commenced attachment with the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji in February, 2011 and was offered a contract in May, 2011. In October, 2011, I was given the responsibility to report on the company's activities as MIS officer for the Western Division of Fiji and that is where I stand now.
I have worked on potato breeding, genetics. genetic resources and biotechnology for the last 35 years as a research scientist and also worked as Head, Division of Crop Improvement, Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla for 5 years. Presently I am leading the R&D activities of Onion and Garlic as Director, Directorate of Onion & Garlic Research, Rajgurnagar, Pune, India. I have traveled to more than 20 countries in official capacity including as CGIAR expert on potato breeding to review the work of the International Potato Center, Lima, Peru.
