The countries of the southern Mediterranean face great challenges.

Out-migration to cities and to Europe has become a major force, and the pressure is being felt primarily by women and young people from rural areas.

The Nutrition and Global Health Program at the Department of Global Health and Population, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join their team. The program is conducting several global health research and training projects with partners in resource-limited settings in sub-Saharan Africa and south Asia.

The pledge to eradicate hunger and poverty must go hand in hand with rapid transformations of farming and food systems to cope with a warmer world, FAO said today in a new report.

Agriculture, including forestry, fisheries and livestock production, generate around a fifth of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. Agriculture must both contribute more to combating climate change while bracing to overcome its impacts, according to The State of Food and Agriculture 2016.

Innovative Methods and Metrics for Agriculture and Nutrition Actions (IMMANA) is a research initiative led by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in partnership with Tufts University and School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. IMMANA is coordinated by the Leverhulme Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health (LCIRAH) and is funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).

CareerTrax has been retained by the International Rice Research Institute (Los Baños, Philippines) to assist them with the candidate selection process for a critical hire, a Senior Scientist who will lead the human nutrition area. IRRI is a highly respected research organization, a world leader for agricultural know-how and research science focused on small farmers in the rice producing nations of the world. This new research portfolio will be centered on the relationship between rice-based systems and nutritional outcomes in these rural communities.
