The Global Conference on Agricultural Research and Development (GCARD3) took the opportunity of the event ‘Rural communities, No longer left behind: Rural and regional development in the South and North Mediterranean and the new Neighborhood Policy’ held October 4-6, 2015 in the ExpoMilan to carry out a regional consultation on the Middle East and North Africa.
This document contains the report of the Secretary of the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) on activities relevant to the Programme of Work of the International Treaty and on the collaboration undertaken during the current biennium. It also provides the elements for a roadmap to further strengthen collaboration and increase synergies on various areas of mutual interest during the 2016-2017 biennium.
Last year, the publication of the Global Nutrition Report 2014 marked the first-ever comprehensive look at the enormous scale of malnutrition, the measures being taken to combat it, and the need for further action. Now, the Global Nutrition Report 2015: Actions and Accountability to Advance Nutrition and Sustainable Development continues the emphasis on accountability established in the first report and documents whether countries, donors, companies, and other stakeholders have carried out the investments and actions to which they have committed themselves.
